Practice Clinics

Clinics are held by specialist practice nurses with additional help from the doctors and hospital specialists for the following:

  • Asthma
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
  • Diabetes

Patients who have these conditions may be invited regularly to attend a nurse led clinic for supervision of their medical condition.

Saturday Appointments

We are really pleased to say we now have Saturday appointments for ladies needing their Cervical Smear - we cannot stress enough how important this appointment is - please do not ignore your invitation - we are here and ready to book you in 😁 Come on ladies - pick up the phone and get booked in 🥳🥳🥳 Consider it an early Christmas present from us to you! We have space in our Saturday morning Clinic this weekend so don't delay - pick up the phone!

Other Services

Maternity

We provide full antenatal and postnatal maternity care with deliveries usually at Great Western Hospital.  We work closely with the midwives who carry out antenatal clinics in the surgeries.

To all our newly "expectant" mothers - there is now a new process for patients to self refer to the Midwife Team instead of going through the GP.

Family Planning pregnant_19

We provide a full service including the fitting of coils and caps, insertion of implants and we offer advice about and prescribe the contraceptive pill.

Child Health

The Health Visitor is available as follows:

Every 2nd Wednesday of the month between 10:30 and 12:00 at Ramsbury Surgery (drop in clinic). 

Cervical Smears

All women from the age of 25 to 65 are encouraged to have a smear.  Those from 25-50 every 3 years and those 50-65 every 5 years.  These are carried out either by the Practice Nurses or Doctors.

Counselling

A counselling/psychology team are attached to this practice and access to this service is by Doctor’s referral. Patients are then invited to make their own appointment and are initially offered self-help, coping strategies and courses such as stress management. Further appointments are arranged as needed.

Minor Surgery

This is carried out within the practice where appropriate.  We have our own equipment for cryotherapy.

“No Worries” Clinic

This service offers confidential contraception advice, treatment and support for those aged between 13 and 24.
